Mediocre banter and various blather
The new Democratic Congress is getting ready to come in and work work work. Of course, there are people that will applaud this as if a bunch of politicians sitting around in DC writing more and more legislation is a good thing.
It’s not. Have you ever created a bar chart in Excel wherein the gap between your highest number and lowest number makes the chart look ridiculous because the difference is so wide? That’s what a bar chart of good legislation vs. bad legislation would look like. The bad legislation would dwarf the good legislation.
There is no reason whatsoever for members of the House to be in DC five days a week. It’s no secret that the more time politicians spend in DC, the more detached they become from the people they represent. If it were up to me, I’d have them come in for a week every month and then send their asses home.

If the problem is the quality of legislation (and I agree it is), I’m thinking keep them in the office and make them work on improving the quality. You know – work. Send them for time off with their “constituents”, and somehow, I think they’ll come back with ready made corporate approved legislation and a nice golf-course tan.
